Rock ‘n Roll High School Policies

Please read carefully to avoid any unexpected fees or charges.

PAYMENTS & FEES
Registration Fee: The annual registration fee is $20 for one student or $30 per family (two or more students). Curriculum books are an additional cost. The annual registration fee is due at the first lesson and is renewed at the beginning of each Fall semester (usually in August).
Payments: We accept both weekly and monthly payments. Weekly payments can be paid with a credit/debit card on file and it will debit automatically each week. Monthly payments can be paid by cash, check, or credit/debit card and are due on the first lesson of each month. If payment is not received within two (2) weeks, a $20 late fee will apply. If payments are not made by the third week, the student’s slot will be forfeited and will become available to another student.
*There is a fee of $20 payable to RnRHS for late payments, returned checks, or denied credit card charges. If your credit card information changes or is compromised, it is your responsibility to update your card information before your next lesson in order to avoid a late fee.
Attendance/Cancellations/Make-up Lessons: We realize that students need to cancel due to illness, extracurricular activities, etc., therefore we offer flexibility in rescheduling lessons. Cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to lesson time in order to be eligible for a makeup lesson. Payment for the cancelled lesson is still due and the student will be added to the makeup list so that it can be rescheduled. No show absences, or cancellations made too close to lesson time, are not eligible for make-up lessons. We do not offer credits or refunds for cancelled lessons.

Makeup lessons are NOT guaranteed and will only be scheduled if our instructors have open availability.
All makeup lessons expire at the end of each semester.
If a student is absent for a makeup lesson, it cannot be rescheduled.
In the event that a makeup lesson must be rescheduled: The three hour notice still applies when re-scheduling your makeup lesson. Makeups may only be rescheduled once before they are forfeited.
If a student is more than 15 minutes late for a lesson without giving notice, the student will be considered absent and the lesson cannot be rescheduled.
Rock Band students will receive a 30-minute private lesson as their makeup as long as a 3-hour advance notice is given.
Students in the AVP class will be given extra opportunities to work on projects outside of their normal lesson time, therefore we do not offer makeup lessons for missed classes.
Any student who misses 3 lessons in a row without giving notice will be automatically withdrawn from lessons and their slot will be forfeited to another student.
Cancelled lessons: Same policy as above--any cancelled lessons require a 3-hour advance notice in order to be eligible for a makeup lesson. Payment for the lesson is still due and will be rescheduled according to our policies above. Make sure to notify the front desk in case of an absence and not the teacher. Zoom lessons: We understand that connectivity issues may happen, however, this is one of the risks of taking virtual lessons. In order to avoid any problems with your virtual lessons, make sure to:
Have a strong, stable internet connection
Download Zoom and have the app updated prior to the beginning of the lesson. We can also do virtual lessons through Google Meet or FaceTime upon request.
Give us a valid email address that you have easy access to
Notify us prior to the start of the lesson if you have not received your link
Check your spam folder in case the Zoom link got sent there
Notify us immediately if there are any issues connecting
We do not offer refunds or credits for the following issues:
Not receiving a link
Not being able to connect
Missing your scheduled time
COVID-19 Policies: Students should not come in for lessons if they have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days or have come in contact with someone who has tested positive in the last 10 days. We do not offer refunds or credits for lessons missed due to COVID. Instead, we offer the option to take your lesson virtually via Zoom. If you do not wish to take a virtual lesson, you will be added to the makeup list and lessons will be rescheduled according to availability. Face masks will be updated as needed. A sign will be posed on the front door with mask updates.
Discontinuation Policy: There is no term commitment at RnRHS. Students may discontinue at any time. You must give a 2-week notice to discontinue so that we have a chance to re-fill the slot. If you are unable to give a 2-week notice, you will be charged for 2 lessons. Once a student discontinues, they will forfeit any makeup lessons due.
Summer cancellation policy: We do not offer any cancellation credits/refunds over during summer sessions but will do our best to offer a rescheduled makeup lesson for any lesson cancelled in advance.
Instructor Absences: RnRHS instructors are professional musicians and occasionally take time off or call in sick. In this instance, we will do our best to find a substitute for your lesson. If there are no subs available, you can choose to reschedule or we can give you a lesson credit--whichever you prefer.
Closed for holidays/bad weather: You will not be charged when RnRHS is closed. RnRHS will credit any lessons that are cancelled by RnRHS due to inclement weather.
