Lucien Lopez

Hey!
My name is Lucien (Lucy) Lopez and I am from Sanford, North Carolina! 

I am super excited to be on staff here at Rock and Roll High School, and even more excited to help you achieve your musical goals while on any of the tracks offered here at school! 

 

I have been a Music Educator since 2013, and I have spent the last 20 years growing as a Professional Musician here in Central NC. Between the years of 2017 and 2021 I spent quite a bit of time teaching Marching Percussion techniques and concepts at high schools and independent programs around the state, as well as attending University of North Carolina At Pembroke for Music Education (Classical) and later Music Industry (Jazz). Some of the schools/programs I instructed/consulted/composed for at include: Knightdale High School, Southern Lee High School, The Sound of Success Community Marching Tigers, Paradigm Percussion, South Brunswick High School, Carolina Gold Drum and Bugle Corps, Heritage High School, Scotland High School, South Granville High School, West Johnston High School, Green Level High School, and Leesville Road High School. 

 

When working with some of these groups I was also responsible for live sound design and music composition, working with Logic and MuseScore as well as other music programs.  

 

I am also involved with quite a few DIY musical projects here in NC, including: The Frozen Charlottes (Drums), Karma! (Bass Guitar), and Aidan Lyons and Friends (Piano/Synthesizer/Drums), as well as running carpoolcrashparty booking, a guerilla booking service. 

 

When I am not teaching folks how to play music, you can find me writing and practicing and performing music I have written with the local artist collective/performance group that I founded called “carcrashpoolparty”, or with my partner Vik and our son!
