Growing up in the 90s with Disney classics on repeat, Katie developed a passion for singing at an early age. She learned to read music in 3rd grade and joined her school choir in 4th. For 10 years she maintained her solid choir nerd status, performing at All-State and winning various singing and sight-reading competitions. In high school she began her journey as a song writer, recording in local studios and learning to record herself. At age 20, after 5 years of private lessons, she moved to LA to attend Musician’s Institute. There she studied vocal technique, vocal performance, music theory, piano, song-writing, recording, and music business. After graduating in 2015, Katie returned home to Kentuckiana and joined a popular local band, Darlington Pairs. Together they recorded 3 albums and played some of the best venues in Louisville, including her favorite radio station. Meanwhile in 2018 she began teaching private voice and piano lessons. Her favorite thing about teaching is guiding her students through important breakthroughs and watching their confidence grow. She joined the Rock’n’Roll High School team in fall of 2023 and she can’t wait to meet you!
